In association with its 2015 summer production of The Taming of the Shrew (directed by Samantha Bellomo, Resident Director at People’s Light and Theatre Company), DSF offers apprenticeships for college students who wish to gain professional experience before graduation. Apprentices work with the Festival’s professional directors, actors, designers, and staff to gain hands-on experience both on and off the stage. DSF offers performance, directing, production/stage management, and management/front-of-house apprenticeships.
All apprenticeships besides management apprenticeships begin June 16, 2015. Managements apprenticeships begin later. The Taming of the Shrew rehearses nights and weekends, and runs from July 17-August 2,2015. All apprentices will be offered a series of Master Classes. Along with the professional DSF technical staff, ALL APPRENTICES will perform set-up and strike duties each day of tech and performances. Modest stipend. College credit may be available. Most apprentices will also be needed for one day tour performance to southern Delaware on August 6.
Interviews/auditions to be held Saturday, March 21. To apply, please email a resume, two references, and a cover letter explaining your interest in the program to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 16. Performance apprentices should also include a headshot. Please also see the College Apprentice Page for more information.
