As we brave the last storms of winter, our thoughts turn to this summer and our 9th annual outdoor production, The Winter’s Tale. If you’ve ever wanted to be involved with the Festival, we have some exciting opportunities coming up, so read on!
Auditions for The Winter’s Tale
The Delaware Shakespeare Festival is seeking actors for its annual summer production, directed by David Stradley. Audition dates: Sunday, February 27* from 2-5pm and Monday, February 28 from 3-9pm at the Carriage House at Rockwood Mansion Park in Wilmington. Please prepare a one-minute Shakespeare monologue and bring picture/resume. Rehearsals begin June 17 (no rehearsal July 4th weekend). Production runs July 15-30 on the grounds of Rockwood Park. [email protected]. Walk-ins will be seen as time permits. College students may audition for Apprentice roles on a separate date (see below). Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend. All roles paid. DSF proudly participates in the Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre. College Apprentice Company Auditions & Interviews
DSF offers apprenticeships for college students who wish to start their careers before graduation. Apprentices work with the Festival’s professional directors, actors, designers, and staff to gain hands-on experience both on and off the stage. DSF offers performance, production, stage management, and front-of-house apprenticeships. All apprentices will be offered a series of Master Classes and will work side-by-side with the professional DSF technical staff to perform set-up and strike duties each day of tech and performances. Modest stipend. College credit may be available. Auditions for Acting Apprentices will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 10am-12:30pm at the Brandywine Hundred Library, 1300 Foulk Road Wilmington, DE. Interviews for Stage Management and other non-performance positions will be held that afternoon from 1-4:30pm. Callbacks for Acting Apprentices will be held during that time as well.
