Since 2008, the Delaware Shakespeare Festival has provided free workshops and performances for at-risk youth through “The Bridge to Shakespeare’s Masterpiece.” These diverse groups of adolescents lack many of the social, educational, and cultural opportunities that many other children their age have. Through “The Bridge,” the participants learn, through the power of Shakespeare and the arts, the effects of gang violence, bullying, and the abuse of power, among other relevant social issues.
