THE COMEDY OF ERRORS Auditions

December 28, 2015 by David Stradley

Delaware Shakespeare Festival is accepting headshots and resumes for non-union actors for its 2016 summer production, The Comedy of Errors, directed by Producing Artistic Director David Stradley. Female performers will be considered for some traditionally male roles. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend, as well as actors who play musical instruments.

Monologue auditions: Saturday, January 16 from 12noon-5pm and Sunday, January 17 from 5pm-8pm. Auditions by appointment only. Rehearsals begin June 15 and will be held on weeknights/weekend days. Production runs July 15-31 on the grounds of Rockwood Park in Wilmington, DE.

To be considered for an audition, please email electronic headshot/resume to
auditions@delshakes.org. Actors who have been previously cast in DSF productions can email to express interest in auditioning; it may be possible to schedule you directly for a callback appointment on January 23. All roles paid at level slightly higher than Barrymore-minimum weekly fee.

Monologue auditions will also be used for casting considerations for DSF’s smaller-scale programming (including seasonal Halloween and Valentine’s reading events) and DSF’s new Community Tour initiative.

Please note: DSF does not provide artist housing. No phone calls please.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute Shakespeare monologue and bring picture/resume.
