In 2023, we pair Shakespeare’s horror story with Shakespeare’s fairy tale. Join us in our 21st season for a full spectrum journey of the good and the bad in the human experience. We’ll take a journey and come out together on the other side, victorious.

Imogen, the daughter of King Cymbeline of Britain, deals with an evil stepmother and a deadly potion, before befriending mysterious men in a woodland cave. Sound familiar, Snow White fans? Love betrayed and a Roman invasion are thrown into the mix of this beautiful, funny, and chaotic saga.

Lucy Negro, Redux – Poetry Readings

Tuesday, April 18, 2023 – 5:00pm
Caroline Randall Williams’ Lucy Negro, Redux uses Shakespeare’s “Dark Lady” Sonnets as a launching pad to explore issues around Black femininity. Mariah Ghant and David Pica will read poems and sonnets, followed by a conversation. A screening of a ballet inspired by the book will be held the day before. This event continues the themes of 2022’s Beyond Shakespeare programming – placing diverse creative voices in conversation with Shakespeare’s work.
