“The Year of the Bard” is an exciting year-long interdisciplinary arts festival that will feature a wide array of Shakespeare-themed performances.
The kick-off event, Romeo and Juliet 3D, will feature DSF actors Sean Bradley and Isa St. Clair (last year’s Florizel and Perdita in The
Winter’s Tale
) performing the famous “Balcony Scene” from Shakespeare’s play. Our friends from OperaDelaware and First State Ballet Theatre will perform the same scene from the opera by Charles Gounod and the ballet by Sergei Prokofiev. Dr. Jay Halio will provide commentary on Shakespeare’s influence on generations of artists. Stay after the performance for a dessert reception celebrating Shakespeare’s birthday.
