Delaware Shakespeare is accepting headshots and resumes for actors for its 2019 season, including the Summer Festival production of The Merry Wives of Windsor,directed by Krista Apple, and the fall Community Tour production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Lindsay Smiling. Female and non-binary performers will be considered for some traditionally male roles. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend, as well as actors who play musical instruments. Del Shakes utilizes a handful of Equity actors each year through the Guest Artist Tier II agreement.

Rehearsals for The Merry Wives of Windsor begin June 11 and will be held on weeknights/weekend days. Production runs July 12-28 on the grounds of Rockwood Park in Wilmington, DE. All roles for Merry Wives significantly exceed Barrymore-minimum weekly fee. The role of Falstaff will likely be cast by the time of monologue auditions.
Romeo and Juliet schedule is still being finalized, but will most likely begin rehearsals on September 24 with a run of October 23-November 17.
Monologue auditions will also be used for casting considerations for smaller-scale Del Shakes programming, including seasonal Halloween and Valentine’s reading events.
