Marketing and Communications Manager
Part-time, Salaried Position
Position Summary
Reporting to the Producing Artistic Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager (MCM) is responsible for the implementation of Delaware Shakespeare’s marketing and communications with audiences.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is a part-time, salaried position. Work can be done in a hybrid mode and the schedule is flexible, but regular communication should be maintained.
Delaware Shakespeare aims to bring professional theatre to the full spectrum of humanity by performing at non-traditional locations such as prisons, homeless shelters, community centers, adult high schools, and more. Performances occur in spaces such as conferences rooms and gyms, with no theatrical lighting.
Responsibilities
Ticket Sales & Marketing:
● Develop and implement an annual marketing plan that maximizes Del Shakes exposure, develops new and untapped markets, and ultimately boosts earned and contributed income potential.
● Collaborate with Producing Artistic Director to ensure clear communication of upcoming programs and offerings
● Maintain social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
● Maintain Del Shakes website. Pending a successful grant application, MCM may be responsible for overseeing the development of a new website.
● Ideal candidate will possess graphic design skills to create promotional material for smaller events and performances, and complete program design/layout for Summer Concert Series and Community Tour
● Sell and acquire ads for programming as needed
● Reinvigorate group sales for the Summer Concert Series by increasing outreach to local community groups, leaders, and untapped markets
● Assist Producing Artistic Director with gathering audiences for ticketed Community Tour performances
● Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure that all financial data aligns with receipt of sales and accurately reflects monthly ticketing reporting and activity
● Pursue new and increased earned income opportunities through avenues such as merchandising, concession sales, and additional programming/classes
● Oversee the effective and timely updating and maintenance of Del Shakes web assets and properties to provide a quality patron experience and maximize patron engagement, ticket sales, and donations.
Other
● Attend bi-weekly staff meetings (typically held over Zoom)
● Attend bi-weekly meetings with Producing Artistic Director
● In-office minimum of 1-day per week; 2-days encouraged
● Some nights and weekends required
Pay Structure
● This is a part-time salaried position on a W-2 with an annual salary of $25,000 paid bi-weekly
