Class 1: Shakespeare & the Natural World with Mariah
Begin with an accessible introduction to Shakespeare, focusing on his writings about the natural world, beauty, and the living world. Together, we’ll look at vivid examples from his plays and sonnets, using them as inspiration for the art-making and writing sessions to come. Participants will be encouraged to gather natural materials – leaves, flowers, grasses – to bring to the next class.
Class 2: Art & Poetry in Conversation: Monoprint & Mini-Book Making with Vanesa
Explore intuitive printmaking techniques that prioritize mark-making, texture, and experimentation over perfection. Using natural materials brought from home of foraged outside, you’ll create four monoprints and assemble a small handmade book to hold your work.
Class 3: Art & Poetry in Conversation: Poetry Writing with Anthem
Learn approachable poetic structures and forms, then craft your own nature-inspired poems. These pieces can be paired with your prints of stand alone as reflections on the themes explored throughtout the course.
