Delaware Shakespeare seeks a production assistant to support the Community Tour of Cymbeline. The production assistant would help to implement the production, including participating in the load-in and load-out at each venue and then assisting the actors with costumes, props, and set pieces during each show. The production assistant would join the production during the final week of rehearsal (September 26) to learn performance duties, and then travels with Del Shakes for all three performance weeks (October 4-22).
The rehearsal commitment would be roughly: Tues 9/26-Sat 9/30 and Tues 10/3, starting at 10am each day and ending between 4pm-6pm.
The Community Tour seeks to share theatre with the full spectrum of humanity in Delaware, by traveling to non-traditional locations such as community centers, adult high schools, and rural libraries. As such, performance times are variable and irregular – consisting of both daytimes and evenings. A full schedule can be sent upon interest, but a flexible schedule is necessary as the daily performance commitment (including travel times and set-up/strike times) is between 4 ½ -7 hours.
Rehearsals are at OperaDelaware Studios in downtown Wilmington. Transportation is provided to all tour performances.
Fee: $490/week for 4 weeks ($1,960 total). Payable as independent contractor.
